Changeover 2025

The Camp Hill Carindale Lions Club held it’s 59th annual Changeover, on Saturday 2nd August 2025. it was well supported by fellow Lions, VIPs, and friends from the multicultural community, with 76 people in attendance at the Changeover Lunch.

The Camp Hill Carindale Lions Club President’s baton was passed from Lion Libby Salles to Lion Carl Miller to continue the Club’s mission of helping the local community, by supporting many causes, like Youth programs, Eyesight programs, Health programs, School programs, Legacy, Community Friends, Assistance Dogs, we do this by fundraising in the local community.

Brisbane teenager recognised on global stage as winner of Lions Clubs International Peace Essay Contest

13-year-old Joshua Wood from Brisbane has an idea of what peace should mean to the world. Joshua has brought that idea to life through a powerful essay which has been awarded the grand prize in the prestigious Lions Clubs International Peace Essay Contest.

The Lions International Peace Essay Contest gives young people with visual impairments an opportunity to express their feelings of peace. Lions clubs across the globe work with schools and local families to identify young people who are interested in participating and who could benefit from this program.

Lions promotes Health and Wellbeing for its members and the Community

Many Lions Clubs meet twice per month with one meeting devoted to a Board or business meeting to develop, clarify and enact the strategies of the Club, whilst the second meeting is a dinner meeting with the focus on fellowship and a quality guest speaker.

The Lions Club of Camp Hill Carindale was fortunate to recently have a very informative presentation from Dr Lavinia Codd of the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI), a University of Queensland research institute with 450 research staff.

Lavinia is a truly inspirational woman who after a very successful career as an accountant with firms in Australia and London, took time out to raise her family and explore a career change by studying science. Mid-way through her science studies, aged 31, Lavinia suffered a stroke.

Spinocerebellar Ataxia Awareness day BBQ Carindale

On Spinocerebellar Ataxia Awareness day Saturday 7 October, the Lions club of Brisbane Camp Hill Carindale ran the BBQ for the Spinocerebellar Ataxia (SCA) Qld group at Carindale. The weather was fantastic and it was a fun day for all involved. Food wise the highlight was the Italian sausages, home made by a SCA member, in the end they were so popular we sold out.

It was a great day and we were happy to be assist with SCA Qld.
